10. Set Up Easy Clutter Catch-Alls For Toys
A year ago I didn’t think that ugly, plastic Fisher Price toys scattered around my living room would be the bane of my existence, and yet here I am—wiped out after a day of messes and laughter and chasing—staring at rattles and light-up toys covering the floor.
Now my daughter is only a year old, but I don’t think it’s too early to start teaching her to help pick up her toys. Problem is, I first need to HAVE a place for her to put all those toys!
When it comes to taming all that toy clutter, choose catch-all stations that are age appropriate and encourage your child to join in on the cleaning up fun.
Use baskets and bins in cubbies when short on space, or for a quick pick up that hides the mess fast. If you kids are older, keep their bedtime necessities in bedside caddies so you never have to search for that special stuffed animal again.
