16. Better Yet… Put Your Laundry Sorting Station on Wheels
Wheels make everything better. And easier too.
If your laundry is on the same floor as the bedrooms, a laundry sorting station on wheels is a must. Just wheel it from room to room, stuff in those sheets and towels, and sort as you go.
17. Chalkboard Your Laundry Room Cabinets

Remember when you used to get mad at your mom for washing your jeans the wrong way?
Avoid any of those arguments with your kids and turn the cabinet doors in your laundry room into message boards using chalk paint.
I LOVE this idea because I have a lot of stuff that needs to be air-dried, and it’d be nice to leave a note for my husband when he helps out with the household chores (because I Or that time when your husband dried your favorite anthropologie top and it shrunk?)
You don’t even really need to paint the cabinets—just use some chalkboard contact paper that you can easily remove whenever you want.
18. Storage Between the Machines
Remember that parallel universe behind the washer and dryer where all the missing socks disappear to?
For me, even if something falls between the machines I call it a lost cause… it’s already crossed over and I’m not going in after it.
But a mini storage cart that fits between machines solves this problem. Because now nothing can fall between the gap, and I won’t have to make up excuses on why I won’t risk diving after them.
19. Ribbons and Hooks for Cleaning Gadgets and Brooms
A lot of us store our cleaning supplies in the laundry room. Hanging those dusting wands and scrubbing brushes on hooks is a great way to organize these items and make them easily accessible.
And for those cleaning gadgets that don’t have big enough holes to fit on a hook? Use ribbons or zip ties.
20. Prevent Detergent Spills on Floor
Detergent containers (or now glass drink dispensers if liked idea #2) with dispensing spouts are great for making washing clothes easier, but sometimes you get those detergent puddles all over!
Never again will that be an issue with these detergent-spill guards. An easy fix to help keep a cleaner laundry room!
